This area of France offers vast recreational areas with thousands of kilometres of forest, rivers and lakes.
Cross country skiing is also close by as are the Dordogne, Tarn Gorge and river Lot.
The south of France, Pyrennees and surfing coast of France are all within a few hours driving.
The vineyards and Cognac Houses of the ‘Petite‘ and ‘Grande Champagne‘ region are close by.
Corrèze is largely unspoilt and in many towns and villages you feel like you have slipped back in time.
The Corrèze people are friendly and helpful and have a strong belief in family and community.
They prefer that you speak to them in their native tongue when possible but frequently you are met halfway.
Tourism isn’t a major influence on the area (fortunately) and the roads are often quiet. In the evening cycling, walking and rambling are pure pleasure.
There are beautiful medieval villages and towns dotted around the region and the pace of life is relaxing.
Freedom of access is a belief in France and the majority of restrictions (which are few) are in the hunting season for safety.
